NKY Men’s Am Day 2

In the championship flight of the Northern Kentucky Golf Association’s Mens’ Amateur at Lassing Pointe, Eagle Creek’s Jeremy Martin advanced with a 1 up win over Matt Bowlin.  Martin, the 2 seed, faces the fifteen seed Phillip Russo at 10:50 am Wednesday.

In the first flight, Michael Camacho defeated Chris Cronenweth 1 up.  He plays Dan O’Brien at 8:26 am.   Rob Flanigan fell to Shannon Hundemer 3 & 1.

In the second flight, Zach Wright was a winner over Tony Perkins, 3 & 2.  Wright matches up against Paul Loveless at 7:54 am.

The eight winners in each flight Wednesday will advance to the finals stroke play on Thursday.

Martin Co-Medalist at NKY Men’s Am

Eagle Creek’s Jeremy Martin shot a 2-under par 69 at Lassing Pointe to take co-medalist honors with defending champion Chris Morris in the opening round of the 2009 Northern Kentucky Men’s Amateur.  As defending champion Morris automatically receives the number one seeding.  Martin will be seeded number two, and begin match play today against the number 31 seed Matt Bowlin wtih a 10:10 am tee time.

Rob Flanigan shot a 76 and is second seeded in the 1st flight. Michael Camacho carded a 77 and is seeded 14 in the first flight. Zach Wright shot an 82 and qualified for the second flight.  Flanigan tees off at 9:06 against Shannon Hundemer; Camacho at 9:22 against Chris Cronenweth; Wright at 8:18 am against Tony Perkins.
