Lance Lucas finished at five under (66 69 – 135) to win the 2009 Eagle Creek Country Club “Willie D” Invitational by three strokes.  Andrew Hodge finished second (65 73 – 138), and Jeremy Martin (63 76 – 139) defeated Sean Burke (65 74 – 139) in a playoff to finish third.

Rob ClarkeThe 2009 Forcht Bank Eagle Creek Country Club “Willie D” Invitational will be played Saturday May 30 and Sunday May 31.  The 36 hole stroke play tournament is played in memory of Bill Davidson.  The field is limited to the first 128 paid entries, with an average of 16 players in each flight.

The entry fee is $150 ($125 for Eagle Creek members).  Each player will receive a tee prize with a retail value of $99, 3 rounds of golf (practice round to be played by May 29th) and golf cart for 36 holes.  Prizes will be awarded to the top three places in each flight.  There will be closest to the pin prizes on all par three’s. Pool Opens Saturday May 23

MSC Golfer of the Year

The Mid-South Conference (MSC) announced University of the Cumberlands’ (and Eagle Creek Country Club’s) Michael Burgan earned MSC Golfer of the Year for his performance over the three conference tournaments.

“Michael has developed into a great player, and he has done it by maturing as a person,” said Patriot Head Golf Coach Chris Kraftick. “I am so proud of him and what he has been able to accomplish.
