Zach Wright wins Northern Kentucky Junior Amateur

Zach Wright Northern Kentucky Junior Amateur Champion

Eagle Creek’s Zach Wright, a two-time regional champion at Grant County High, won the 18-under competition in the Northern Kentucky Golf Association and 7-UP Junior Tour Northern Kentucky Junior Golf Championships at Pendleton County with a two-day score of 145.  Wright, who will be a freshman at NKU, carded a 70 on Tuesday and followed with a 75 in the final round.  He finished five shots a head of Chet Wehrman from Conner.

“I was in the group in front of Chet so I didn’t know what was going on.  I was just playing and that’s it,”  Wright said.  “It’s a great momentum builder.  I played well both days and really only had one big number today when I took a triple-bogey on 13.”
